Ep # 6 – 2017 Business Summit And State of the City Address

Episode #6, features our 2017 Business Summit & State of the City Address co-hosted with the City of Chico, Friday, January 27th .

As you will learn in this episode, from where we sit in 2017, things certainly look better after a bit of a wild ride.  However, the State of the City Address was delivered by our new Mayor with a cautionary tone.  Growth, while on the horizon, should be slow and steady and will require continued sacrifices in the levels and expediency of City services.

On the bright side the Chico Economic Snapshot, produced by Golden Valley Bank, President & CEO Mark Francis, reflected optimism and steady upward projections in most of our key economic indicators. Meanwhile our Executive Director, Melanie Bassett of the Downtown Business Association reported 27 businesses opened downtown in 2016. Downtown Chico is also slated to add 6 new restaurants in 2017!
